I hope you all had a joyful and blessed Christmas! I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the many cards and gifts I received for both Christmas and my birthday—your thoughtfulness truly means so much to me.

A special thank you to Louise Hebert and her dedicated team for the beautiful decorations that made our church so festive. I also want to acknowledge and thank our servers, sacristans, lectors, and ushers for their invaluable assistance at the Christmas Masses. Your efforts made everything run smoothly and prayerfully.

As we look ahead, the schedule for the January 1st Holy Day is listed below. I would also like to invite you to join me in ringing in the New Year on December 31st with a time of adoration in the church. Let us welcome 2025 together in thanksgiving for God’s blessings.

Thank you to everyone who generously supported the Shoes for Rwanda annual fundraiser! Together, we raised over $2,600 to provide shoes for school children in Rwanda. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated—thank you for being part of this important mission!

We’re excited to announce the launch of the Elijah Cup Prayer Ministry in January! This ministry offers families, couples, and individuals the opportunity to pray for an increase in vocations by taking home the Elijah Cup—a chalice symbolizing our prayers for vocations—for one week.

A sign-up sheet will be available in the entryway this weekend, where you can select a week to participate in this ministry. Participants will take the Elijah Cup home for a week of prayer and return it by Saturday before the 4 PM Mass, allowing the next participant to continue the prayers. Join us in this important effort to foster vocations within the Church!

In your kindness, please pray for the repose of the souls of the following individuals:

Leo Lyonnais, 89, and Annette Lyonnais, 87, parishioners and daily Mass goers of our parish, who passed away tragically in the house fire on Garfield Street in Acushnet on Christmas morning. Further information regarding services has not been announced.

Mass to Open the Jubilee Year 2025 - All are invited to the Cathedral in Fall River this Sunday, December 29th, at 3 PM for a special Mass to open the Jubilee Year 2025. Join Bishop da Cunha and faithful from across the diocese as we begin this holy year of grace and renewal. Read about the Jubilee here.
The second annual Divorced and Separated Healing Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at St. Mary’s Cathedral. This Mass is designed specifically for individuals who are going through or have experienced separation or divorce, offering a space for prayer, reflection, and spiritual healing related to the pain and challenges of their situation.
Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass: Bishop da Cunha will celebrate the annual Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Cathedral. RSVP to the parish office by January 17th.

LASALETTE BUS TRIP ON SUNDAY DECEMBER 29TH

For those who have signed up, please arrive at the SFX parking lot by 4:00 PM.

A free-will offering will be collected for the bus.

The bus will return to SFX by 8:00 PM.
