Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Our School Open House is just two weeks away on Sunday January 26th from 12-2pm! This is a wonderful opportunity for families to visit our school, meet our dedicated teachers, and see the impact of a Catholic education firsthand.
The best advertising for our school has always been word of mouth within our community. Your enthusiasm and recommendations to family, friends, and neighbors make all the difference. Please consider sharing with others why our school is special and why Catholic education can make such a lasting impact.
You may be surprised to know that a Catholic school education can be affordable. Need-based financial aid is available through the diocese's FACE Scholarship, which many of our students benefit from.
Please spread the word, especially to nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and young families who might be looking for the right school for their children. Let’s continue building the future of our parish through Catholic education.
Below I’m sharing an excerpt from an article from the Denver Catholic on why to choose a Catholic school:
1. Catholic schools offer a transformative education for the whole child: body, mind and spirit.
A Catholic education is one that focuses on the whole person, forming children to be the future saints God is calling them to be! Catholic education not only teaches facts, but actually forms children’s intellects and their souls, equipping them to think critically, discern faithfully and pray fervently.
2. Faith is infused in every subject area and throughout the day’s activities.
In Catholic school, faith permeates every single thing that students do. Whether it’s looking at their academics through the lens of faith, attending Mass or learning more about their faith and the sacraments, students are formed in faith to be devoted leaders and faithful servants of others.
3. Catholic schools offer a well-rounded education.
Catholic school students are encouraged to be curious, ask questions and expand their knowledge of the world around them as God has created it. They are formed as whole persons, body, mind and spirit, to see the world differently. After all, we’re forming future saints!
4. Students are taught discipline and respect for their teachers, adults and others.
The Christian tradition has a longstanding honor for parents and those in authority. It’s a commandment for a reason! In our Catholic schools, deference, respect, honor and discipline are taught as virtues for a healthy, holy, integrated life. Walking in the footsteps of Christ, we’re called to love one another, and we teach our students to do the same!
5. We partner with parents, who are the primary (and the first!) educators of their children.
This profound, beautiful vocation of parents is honored in our Catholic schools! Since parents are the primary educators of their children, we work in tandem with parents and families to meet students’ needs and to form students according to Christian values. It’s truly a team approach!
In Christ,
Fr. Ryan
